About us

Within New Zealand, Kyokushin Karate forms an extensive network of branches and clubs shown on the map below.

IKO stands for: International Karate Organisation; there are two branches of the IKO in New Zealand. 1.Takiwa Shihan Branch based in Auckland and 2. O'Leary Branch is based in Palmerston North.

 

Both branches have a strong working relationship and share the Annual National Junior/Novice and Senior tournaments.  

The Napier, Hastings and Ahuriri Dojo (training hall) are members of the Takiwa Branch.  

Membership to the Napier, Hastings, Ahuriri Kyokushin Karate provides the following benefits ONLY available with our organisation:

  • access to a network of 21 Kyokushin Dojo within New Zealand

  • access to an international network of Dojo in nearly every country, region and territory in the world
